As far as I know, the cheapest web site that offers the ticket from USA to BKK is http://www.thaifly.com.
However, I have seen cheaper deal in http://www.expedia.com once in a while.

pricewatch.com is out of quesiton since you could get a redicules connection and flight time.

Anybody know any other good place to buy ticket?

I found tickets on expedia in the mid $800 range from the East Coast US. Prices increase in the summer months about a $100 but you have to book early enough (4-6 months in advance) otherwise the prices skyrocket.

I don't mind paying the the summer fare because you'll save more being in Thailand during the low season.

I used http://www.orbitz.com for my trip in Sept. I booked in May. From SFO to BKK $740 net. I have also used yahootravel in the past, and also travelocity. One of those 3 will have the cheapest fare.

I fly United and I've gotten good prices off their website. PHL-ORD-BKK-PHL for $605. Generally I pay around $705. The other sites mentioned are good also. Best price I ever paid JFK-BKK on Cathay Pacific was $88. r/t plus taxes. I got that off of Expedia.

Anything going thru ORD is to RISKY in my book, to many delays and cancled flights. ORD is the most over booked airport in the US, I think.

Go to the Cathay Pacific--USA website--they have a section called "Deal of the Month." Nearly every other or every third month, the special is to Bangkok from LA, SF, or JFK. Sometimes they allow for a stop-over in Hong Kong for several days at no additional charge, which is nice.

Last September, the special was $549 RT from LAX. So I booked it, and then bought a separate ticket on Southwest Airlines for $75 RT to get to LAX from Phoenix. That's a total of $625 RT from Phoenix--BKK.

Right now, they actually have the Bangkok special going. Although it is slightly higher than what I paid last fall. It's $636 RT from LA, SF, or JFK.

By the way, Cathay Pacific is a top-notch airline. Great service and great schedule. Rather than arrive in BKK near midnight like most other carriers, Cathay's schedule puts you in BKK in late morning.
Hope this helps.
