Also, does anyone know of any BKK-Pattaya shuttle buses? What is the best/easiest way to get to Pattaya from BKK?

Hey bros, the fastest and easiest way to get to Pattaya is to just hire a taxi to take you. You can usually hire one for around 1000-1200 baht and it'll get you there in 2 hours or less. Peace

You can get a taxi to Pattaya for as little as 800 Baht. ð There are buses that run every 1/2 hour from one of the two main bus terminals in the city. There are shuttle vans available through hotels and travel agencies that are in between those 2 options in terms of price, speed and comfort.

I've taken the A/C bus for 90baht. They leave every 30 minutes from BKK. Takes about 2-2:30 hours to bus station in Pattaya. I would take again. Van service from Nana Hotel works well. I've also taken a taxi to Pattaya. Only able to pay 800 on the way back.

Yep! take the bus from Ekkamai Station. However, there are two prices and two different routes/destinations. One way to go is certainly by paying B/.90 and using the Blue-AirCon bus. The trip is around 2:30 hrs long and you will stop at North Pattaya. Once there, a bunch of "song-teus" (adapted pick-up van) will give you a ride along the Beach Road for B/.30 (10 minutes ride)....If you are going to jomtien, just get off at the end of the Beach road (just in fornt of WALKING STREET) and go to the parallel avenue of the Beach Road. Cross the road and take another "song-teu" for B/.10. A long line of these adapted vans (pick ups) are parking on the side of the road and near the intersection. The ride is about 10 min. Coming back to Ekkamai........take care of the SECOND type of bus. This one is also going to Pattaya. This is also a Blue-AirCon bus, but the difference is that the shit stops three or four times to pick up some passengers on its way through Sukhumvit. This f_cking bus also stops somewhere near Onnut for 20 minutes to "crowd" the bus and you will make the trip in 3:30 hours max. The price is B/.60-70 not to mention that the last stop in Pattaya is JOMTIEM!!!! around 5 minutes ride by "song-teu" from the Police Station in the "fun corner" near KFC. I could take this stuff for my diving classes nearby but since this shit stops quite a few times on either way this is OUT of my itinerary. I took this "tour" by mistake once, awful experience. see ya!!

Ah! taxis from Bangkok with taximeter are around B/.1,000-1,200. However, I also recomend the normal air con vans departing from Ambassador Hotel around 8am. B/.200 one way. Conatct the front desk for more info. Ambassador Hotel is in Soi 11.

Re: Ambassador. Make sure you can get off anywhere in Pattaya because that bus goes to Ambassador Jomtien and that's a long way out of the centre.

I usually book my trip with the travel agent at the Nana Hotel. ðA van (invariably with anaemic aircon) picks you up at your hotel, and then takes you to the bus depot to the east of BKK by the elevated freeway to Pattaya (a 20 minute trip, once the last person is picked up). A big comfortable bus then takes you to the Nipa Lodge in Pattaya, at which point another van with anaemic aircon drops you at your hotel. Cost is 180 as I recall, and it's door to door, which is the main advantage of the service. ðThey can also take you to the airport on the way back. From the airport, the Thai Airways limo costs 1500, and is worth it if you want to avoid hassle. ðA few months ago I was the only passenger is Mercedes Benz that dropped me at my hotel in Pattaya. ðNot bad for $35!

Take the air-con bus from BKK Ekamai to Pattaya bus termainal as suggested by BigD, taxi are 15xs more expensive and it isnt 15xs more comfortable or faster. Dont worry if you got big baggage as you can place those below the bus, there is a compartment for lugguages like tour buses. On the way back to BKK you can take the public bus again or hire air-con vans, there are many agencies that provide such service, picks you up from your hotel in Pattaya and send you to the stated destination in BKK( ithink its B400, cant really remember).
