Ya good deal from LAX !!!....last year during SARS issues in Asia, Cathy put out on Expedia a $165 LAX trip to BKK RT and I quickly zapped that. Bros were busy on computer bein hoggs as to 4 flights over and it closed on em at 5 PM Cali time. They never got tickets.
Cathy was packed as hell though...frickin cattle ride over, cramped and all, but for $165 it was a gift from the Gods and I'lll remenber that 14 day bangin P4P goodtimes baby * )

Ive surfed for weeks now and the best deal I can get is £470 rtn approx.

I booked this flight for November from NY for $869 including taxes and fees. The free stopover in Hong Kong is a real nice benefit, and I will be using that to take some time to travel to mainland China as well.
This special is on the cathay-usa page, they have different specials for different regions.

Because of a special arrangement my company has with Cathay, I got JFK-BKK R/T for $654 in October. If it hadn't been for the corporate discount, I probably would have taken Eva Air from Newark for $974 in premium economy for the Newark- Taipei legs and Business Class for Taipei-BKK legs. I'm already looking ahead past October to January and I'll probably go with Eva.

How do you get these rates? Not incl taxes I am sure. Also where do you book a combo of Premium Econ.+business? Eva Air's site does not allow this does it? I don't like the arraival times Eva has, thought SQ is better no?

There's a section on the Eva Web site called hot e-fares, you have to search there. The general reservations section doesn't yield as good deals. I believe the premium + business depends on Eva not offering premium seats on all flights (depends on day) on the Taipei-BKK leg, so you fly Business. But that is a short flight, so it doesn't really matter.
I'm not sure about the taxes part, but I believe it was a total price..
The Cathy Pacific price was $654 including all taxes, but that is because of a special deal offered to employees of my company. However, I'm sure it's not the only company that got that offer. If you work for a biggish company that does a fair amount of business in HK, you might want to check with your corporate travel dept if a similar deal is available.

I did find the Premium Economy (Eva Air calls it Evergreen delux class) offer at http://ffp.evaair.com/online/html/english/plan/eibsa003.asp (need select daparture and destination BKK, and scroll down past the regular economy offers to find it). It lists as $972 valid for USA departures on Sep 5 to Nov 30. The price is listed as Pre Tax Price (see top of the table the price column writing). With a $203 tax total is US$1175. Not bad I think pricewise. Arival time is 12.10PM in BKK. Departure from BKK is at 12.15PM. Both times are very good for me. Indeed the Taipe to BKK segment is in business class (but not the return from BKK). Its nice to have access to the busines class Lounge in Tapie/BKK that is why it makes just a bit of difference...

hi all,
just bought 2 R/T tickets on EVA...via taipai into bkk mid november $768 all in per ticket.
I have never flown the airline...any comments?????
is it comparable to Korean or Northwestern...thats all I have flown to bkk in the past.
