Yeah I was brought to this thread under false pretenses but to answer your question.
The TG gold card comes with one complimentary upgrade which is virtually useless because it only applies if you buy a full fare ticket.
I have found that I do not really get anymore upgrades with a gold card than I did before.
The one and only really useful benefit of the Thai gold card is that you get put to the front of standby which virtually guarantees you can get on any domestic flight.
Of course there is the other stuff... check in to business class, access to lunges etc.. all in all not much to write home about

thanks abrak yes could of put different title but that's the code for thai air, better just take the free flight now with 60kmiles plus, or wait for gold not sure what's best.

the thai gold card is fantastic. contrary to abraks experience I could use my upgrade voucher on any normal ticket, especially on a long haul flight worth this card alone. used this upgrade voucher to enhance my eco ticket from europe to thailand and at the airport got another upgrade to first. great paying eco and flying first bkk to frankfurt!
i got upgraded about 1 in 4 times which is really quite good!
the main benefits are guaranteed seating even on overbooked flights and the use of all (a l l ! ! !) star alliance lounges worldwide (think about how many airlines the star alliance comprises these days, ana, sia, thai, china air, lot, sas, lufthansa, united, us air, varig!)
really a great deal probably the best frequnet flyer card around, if you know how to maximise the use of it!
