I know they can travel to Singapore but I think they cannot travel to Hong Kong because the TG I met in my last trip told me that she could not get HK visa but she could go to Singapore

Thais can travel to HK without a visa. I took my friend to the HK 7's last year - a two week stay is allowed.
Singapore is generally ok but I think they occasionally restrict entry.
In general, they do not need a visa for ASEAN countries
They need a visa for Taiwan (**** knows why!).
The only way to find out for sure is to pick a country & visit their govt. website which will give you all the current visitor entry requirements.
My TG has been to the following countries in Asia with me:
Taiwan, Laos, Singapore, Malaysia, HK & Philippines.
Only Taiwan required a fulll visa. Laos needed a visa but it was easily obtained on entry. The rest were no problem...just turn up at their passport control & breeze through.

No such thing as Visa free. Only a visa on arrival rather than pre-arranged. In theory Thais are allowed Visas on arrival at Asean countries. But Hong Kong is not an Asean country. I took a girl to Singapore and Hong Kong last year. She did not have pre-arranged Visas. She got into HK no problem. But the immigration in Singapore gave her a hard time (even though Singapore is Asean). So if you are relying on her getting a visa on arrival you are taking pot luck on the immigration guy's discretion and mood that day. The moral? Decide where you want to go and get a visa in advance.

Same here...

Brought a girl to Malaysia.. NO Problem.. stayed for a month.. During this time we decided to go to Singapore for the weekend via train from KL.

The c*** bitch immigration officer at The train station immigration was horrible.

First She asks in that wierd accent a bunch of questions to my friend. I could barely make out what the hell she was asking, never mind my TG.

With that she's mwisked off to one of the offices. The stamp me in for 30 days.

I go over to the office and try to assist. The Immigration c*** tells me to get out! I simply stand by the open door. She's still ranting on with her VERY bad english (serious chinese accent) and getting angry as mt TG has no idea what she's saying (she speaks rather good english).
Basically she's asking my TG why she's visiting Singapore. "For Visit" is the response. My TG show's our return train tickets for Sunday (it's friday night).
The Imm Officer asks her how much $$she has. My TG tells her that I have the $$ and she has about 100$US on her. The Immigration c*** (IC) asks to see her wallet. My TG shows it and IC goes through it. At this point I stepped into the office. Told her that I have the $$.
The IC then asks for MY passport. Asks me where we are staying. I didn't have a hotel in mind, but said we have reservations at Sheraton (or something like that, and thats what we wrote on Immigration cards). She asked me how much $$ I had. I told her I had enough, She asked to see my wallet, I said "NO" She kept on with the How much $$ I had, so I finally said 400$US cash. She says that the sheraton is very expensive and that 400 wasn't enough to stay there. I looked at her and was in pure amazment.. Credit cards I said.. Ever hear of them??
Oh U have credit card she said...May I see?
I quickly opened up my wallet and just flashed one, without letting her examine it.

With that she stamps my TG in to Singapore for 48 Hours!!, Take train ticket details.
IC then tells me, I'm suprised you have 30 days???? Maybe we should change that too.

I bit my tounge!!!
I will never go to Singapore again unlesss I have to!!

Went back to Malaysia, no problems with immigration at all.

Moral of story.... Singapore can be tricky for a TG, and the poeple at Immigration appeared to be VERY rude and suffer from illusions of grandour!!

Hong Kong is not asian??????

Thai citizens are actually allowed up to 30 days visa on arrival in Hong Kong
Thai citizens are entilitled to visa on arrival in singapore and hong kong it is free because you don't have to pay for it! It is discretionary to the immigration official yes of course - just like it is discretionary for any citizen of any country, if they have reason to believe the person entering singapore is coming to work (e.g they think the thai girl is coming for prostitution) they they can be denied entry. However there is a recirocal visa on arrival policy between the 2 countries there is absolutely no reason a thai citizen can't travel to singapore for tourism.

CG,

I looked into a Thai entering Malaysia last April and was told by the High Commission in Canada that a passport was needed for them but no visa for under 30 days. They said it would be the same answer at the border.

This is their official site in Ottawa, all I have.

I would also like to know about Laos.

I went over the border in Mukdahan to Laos with the TGF a couple of years ago and she only had her ID. Cambodia and Malaysia they need a passport.
