Hi folks I am intending to travel to Phuket from Bkk when in Bkk. Is it easy to grap a ticket fromBkk? Any recommendations? Am I better off buying a ticket here in Oz or when I arrive in BKK?

I booked my ticket at an internet cafe the day before I travelled from Phuket to BKK. Used http://www.bangkokair.com for the purchase. Really cheap webfare and just printed confirmation at the cafe. For some reason Thai Air will not let you book if only a few day in advance on their website. Their loss. So, book it the day before to fly from bkk to hkt. Keeps your travel plans flexible in case you decide last minute to go somewhere else.

You could do whatever you want. Buy the ticket at any of the thousands of travel agents in Bangkok or buy before you come. There's plenty of recommendations in previous threads but there all pretty competitive. Shop a few places and then buy.
