Does anybody know the best way to get to Hua Hin?
Is there a mini-bus service ???
Is it really posh or are there some ladies available ?

You have 3 options.
Bus, think you can take it from the railway station.
By train. Done that once. Found this from the State Railway website. First class: 202 B, 2nd class: 102 B, 3rd class: 44 B

You will have to check with the travel agents, they will know the contacts for the vans or mini-bus service.

been to Hua Hin many times. Bangkok Airways flies there daily (according to their sched.). Its the easiest, and only takes 40 min.
But, including the taxi to the airport in bkk, it can be expensive relative to the train. It'll cost you 2000b or so total.
As for ladies, its not posh at all. But, would recommend having a beer at the Hilton Beer bar. Remember, Hua Hin ("Head Rock" in Thai) is the summer resort of His Majesty the King, and therefore, nightlife is much more laid back. Great seafood, slow life, and a great place to play golf, that's why I go. But, if you are thinking of a place like Pattaya, its not like that.

Take a taxi.....between 1500-1800B.....as quick as the plane if not quicker (depending on where you live in Bangkok)....Easy to get a taxi back from Hua Hin for 1200B-1500B....

Easy 3 hr drive, you can get a rental car for 1000bt a day at most thai companies, - I much prefer the slightly closer Cha Am, - yes, a few bars at both places, but probably pay to take a p4p with you the first time - also normally very quiet during weekdays, both places are popular with thais on the weekends. Hilton hua hin is a nice hotel, around 3000bt a night, then again, I stayed at Scandy resort, Cha Am last month, big room/aircon, fridge etc, right on waterfront, nice restaurant downstairs, 500bt a night !
