Anyone suggest a cheap way of doing this by Air ? I've had a look at the cheapie airlines but none seem to fly to Denpassar. I guess a route involving changing at Singapore or Jakarta would be good. Need a change from Thailand and Bali's my 2nd Home. Terrah makasi banyak

For what it's worth... I flew from Bali to Bangkok, 4 years ago, via Jakarta. I had to spend a night in Jakarta, at my own cost. (As I said, for wat it's worth!)

I'd suggest checking out a travel agent on the Ko san Road. They specialise in budget travel speak Indo and balinese - impressive stuff.

All4one, I'm thinking to either add Manila or Bali to my next visit. Was the Roayl Brunei experience good? Direct flight? I understood your price was 5500 bht/return ticket. I saw Thai has a flight, but didn't check if it was direct or via Jakarta. Local transport in Bali to hotel - is taxi a safe option? (Jakarta always uses Bluebird taxi)

Taxi was not a problem - think it was about 25,000 to Kuta. The flight was fine - no thrills but go there on time and for a bargain price. I understand Air Asia now fly to Bali from KL so could be a cheaper way to do it. Love Bali - still maintains a lovely atmosphere (outside main resorts), pisses ove Phuket and Samui in my opinion.... Selamat Jalan

Hello all, at first, just wanted to ask something: since when newbies cannot create a new topic? and why is that? How is a newbie defined, by the number of posts? Even the "newbies" section for questions, supposedly dedicates to newbies, does not allow me to post a new topic! Anyway since I cannot create a new topic I guess for my question this is the most suitable topic: I will be in BKK in August, I am thinking of going to Indonesia. Don't know much about the country, willing to try any seaside places with nice beaches (not Bali). But how can we get there? I couldnt find any low cost airlines from BKK to any Indonesian places. With Air Asia I need to go to KL first, then to Jacarta and from there to a couple of places. Anyone know airlines connecting BKK and other Indonesian places? I was trying to find about Royal Brunei but their site is not that helpful. Garida and Thai connect only the capitals, if I am correct. Please share with me any info you may have. Thank you very much in advance!

This route (BKK-DPS) can be an excellent use of a Star Alliance (UA) award, expecially if you want to fly nonstop. 20K miles economy RT or 30K miles business class RT on TG.
