Would appreciate any information about group tours to Vietnam (5-7 days) and Laos (3-5 days) from Bangkok. Any recommendations regarding reputable travel/tour operators would be great. Also any recommendations & experiences would be welcomed. Thanks in advance to all.

Koolbreez and I did a BKK/Laos tour that started 3/22/05 and finished 3/25/05. Total cost (air/hotel/transportation/tour guide) was 20,900 baht per person. Our tour was called "Vientiane - Luang Prabang 4 Days, 3 Nights Code VTLPQ01" Tour company we booked (at the Manhattan) was P. Panithan Travel Ltd. Tel 02-805-0984. 99/4 Moo 9, Petchakasem 58, Bangduan, Phasricharoen, Bangkok 10160. Like many hotels, the Manhattan has an on-site tour desk. We have done many tours booked at the Manhattan without any problems. I believe many tour companies offer such tours. I don't know that we got the cheapest price, but we had no problems at all during the trip. Koolbreez has the e-mail address of the Lao Tourguide. I'll let him know about this thread. We are planning to go back in October and spend another 3 days or so touring rural Laos with this tour guide. Our tour left BKK and landed in Vientiane. Paid the $30 USA for a Lao visa right at the airport. Costs more if you don't have a passport picture to give them. We spent 1 1/2 days in Vientiane. Probably enough for most people. We also spent 1 1/2 days in Luang Prabang. We were more impressed with Luang Prabang and will probably spend some more time there - especially at the night and morning markets.
