I think some airlines for domestic travel, like Nok Air or Air Asia, do not sell through travel agents. Internet is the best option, in my opinion

agree with Onera. Most of the budget airlines (Nok, Air Asia, Thai Orient) offer excellent deals online because they get all the fair, rather than having to pay commission to agents.
But I tend to prefer to use agents when booking with a more reputable airline like Thai or Bangkok Airways.
Two examples (although both are overseas flights). Bkk Airways quoted around 9000 baht for return to Phnom Penh. I got the fare for 7800 inclusive through an agent. And Thai Airways website is quoting 13,000baht for return to HK. I paid 11,000 at the travel agent.
Conclusion. For budget airline, go to the internet. For regular airline, try both but make sure you check the agency price against online price.

scobie is right... and just to add to that... if you call Nok Air or AirAsia to make the resv, you almost always get the same rate as doing it online. For AirAsia, you can buy with a credit card over the phone and for Nok Air, you can even pay for the ticket at some 7-11 stores. Just ask Nok Air which ones accept payment for their tickets.
