Hello,
(I have googled, promise!)
I would like to rent a bicycle, to explore Bangkok (I know, I know: avoid Sukhumvit at rush-hour).
I have found only organized tours, and I do not remember seeing any rental shops.
Do any exist? Where? How much?

Not sure about bicycles - but its easy to rent small motorcycles, which are quick to get around on and very inexpensive. Just ask one of the motorcycle taxis in Soi 13 or Soi 17 and they'll take you to a rental shop.

I think the price was 950 or 990 baht at Tesco Lotus in May for the cheapest and they looked ok!

Off thread I know, but....
Had a go on a Segway in a showroom of the UK importer about a year ago. Great fun, but worked by leaning forward to move, effectively overbalancing forwards.
Knowing the "smoothness" (or not) or the Suk pavements I would wonder what happens when you hit a raised slab.
Base over apex/arse over tit etc???

The ones I looked at looked better than okay and priced at Bt1000. I saw plenty of value.
On the Segways in BKK: Anyone tried them on the all-terrain city sidewalks we've got here? Betcha there's no harsher urban landscape than a BKK sidewalk. LOL
