My thai g/f did this about three years ago and it has been on my list
she is not very coordinated, but managed quite well.. they went thru the tabacco authority and over to Queen Sirikit.. about an hour total..
she enjoyed it, but said it got boring after about 30 minutes??

from what I remember they were supposed to revolutionize the world of commuting, but never took off and many investors lost alot.
I could be wrong but I think the inventor is from and the company's headquarters is in the ATL....not doing as much for my hometown as CNN or Coca Cola
I agree with oaktoads GF, to me it would seem like those peddle boats you rent in small lakes and after 10 minutes you are like "lets go back"

I think segway was invent by Dean Kamen, who also invented the insulin pump. Still remember all the hoopla about the segway before it was revealed. It was media hype at its best.

I did that run with some friends, and it was great. Especially meandering among the streets and getting firewater from the locals, lol. Jeff no longer runs the company, but I would recommend it to anyone, as they are great vehicles and loads of fun to play with. And some of the TG guides were real cuties, but, of course, I didn't notice that, lol. I've been trying to get my TGF to try it, she's intimidated by the thing -- she still doesn't know how to drive a motocy without crashing it, lol (I'm not much better, but at least I can get us from point A to point B in one piece). These are loads easier to drive than a motocy, and I think she'd really enjoy it.

my bad...I guess I thought that because there used to be a dude on soi nana back in 2003/2004 that would ride up and down the soi on one.
I went up and started a conversation and he said he was from Atlanta...we chatted about that a bit and I assumed he was the "man" but maybe he had just purchased the rights to sell it in BKK.
anyway, it never lived up to the hoopla...
