Felloe Thai lovers, I will be in Bangkok fir the first time this weekend, and I have many questions, and I need your expertiese. 1) How much should a meter taxi be to the Grand President (GP)? How far is it. 2) What are the top three places to see in Nana Plaza, Clinton Plaza, and Soi Cowboy? 3) Do the GP allow you to bring in two girls? Thank you for your help. I welcome any other advise or suggestions. I will deffinently check out the Eden club, going for 3. Thanks....

Sal: I stayed at the GP last month so I can answer your questions. 1) Once you get out of Customs, dont go to the taxi booth in the airport building next to the money exchange counters (where people meet their relatives and friends), instead simply go outside and you will see a taxi counter where they will ask you where you are going and introduce you to a taxi driver. The surcharge is 5o bht, and you will have to pay for tolls too. The whole bill should only be about 175 bht. When I stayed at GP, they sent a driver to meet me but maybe that was a special deal. 2) At Nana, I recommend Play Skool or G Spot, wont hassle you or rip you off. At Clinton Plaza, I recommend DollHouse and at Cowby, I like Long Gun. These are the common places that every recommend, but I always have fun exploring the raunchy places. For a 1st timer, you may want to stick with the safe bets until you can gauge the pace of things. You wont have any problems in most places, that being said, however, if you are of Indian or of Middle Eastern descent, you may have a hard time getting in. I dont make the rules, thats just the way it is. 3) Do the GP allow you to bring in two girls? I had no problems with the GP staff, just walk in like normal, dont be loud and obnoxious and make sure the girls behave. Who is to say they arent just friends of yours? I met a girl I liked so much that I stuck with her the whole time and she had no problem coming and going as she pleased to my room with no hassles. In fact, once she was bringing a friend along and I knew I was going to be late, so I even got the front desk girl to write a note in Thai for me explaining I would be 30 minutes late that I stuck on my door. As I always say "you show respect, you get respect". Enjoy.

bkkz, how far away is the Grand President from the Sukhumvit main road? Is it a long walk? The reason I'm asking is, I stayed at President Park (owned by the same company) on Soi 24 but it was really far from the Sukhumvit main road. I ended up taking a cab each time I needed to get to the main road.

just something to consider. I now almost always take the airport shuttle bus to suk 11. It drops you off and numerous places along suk. The stop I get off at is right in front of the ambasador beer garden. I forget the exact bus number. There are only 3 of them. I think it is A3. but the signs are in english, and the lady at the counter where you buy your ticket will tell you which one to take. The fare is just 100 baht. and it gets ;you there faster than a cab, because it has a special lane on the expressway. This is not a city bus, but a smaller type that you see at most airports used to run you out to car rental lots ect. So there is just a rack on the inside to put you bags in. The lady also tells the driver who is stopping where so there is virtualy no way to miss you stop. Just walk out like you are going to the cab area, and then walk to the right about 50 meters. This is one of the truely great bargins in BKK.
