greetings,
is there any other option besides Bangkok "rip-off" Air to samui? Just trying to find a cheaper way to fly there? any help?

Bangkok Air built, and owns the only airport on Samui, so they have the lock on air travel. A return flight is around 8K baht, plus fees/taxes.
You could fly to Suratthani, and take the ferry, but you wouldn't save much, if anything, and it's a giant hassle, unless you just want some 'local flavor'...
The situation may change in the future, given the commercialization of the island.

The first flight and last flight of the day to/from Samui have a 2000 baht + tax promotion - a little better than the normal fare.
An interesting routing is also to fly out of Thailand via BKK-Samui-Singapore or BKK-Samui-HongKong. This way, you get Samui on the way out, as well as SIN or HKG. The flight from SIN or HKG to your home might be cheaper than BKK to your home. I know that right now, California to SIN and HKG are cheaper than California to BKK, so you might save a little money this way, and see SIN or HKG on the way out.
Here is a cheaper way, that would also save you a night in the hotel. It is 850 baht one-way Bangkok to Samui.

I have been on this ferry, it is good. Stopping for a day of diving in Koh Tao is a good option. Last year, Dew and I spent two days diving on Koh Tao, then 18 hours on Samui before flying back to BKK. You can stop at Hua Hin on the way down as well. If time is of the essence, and you only want to see Samui, then pay up and take the plane.
