Does anyone have some info on van rental over the new years, any companies recommended to contact. Have tried Highway and don't want Budget, tried many others also but all booked.

Vans are arailable everywhere - a guy at my appartment has a hot thing with fanf_ckingtastic stereo system 7-800/day (with driver).
Sorry cant be more specific, but just ask guys near where you stay who happen to be lounging in their vans waiting for their group

Thanks for the reply, any chance of a location for the 'fanf_ckingstastic' stereo system with a van thrown in !!! Problem is that it is this time of year, we have tried 20 rental companies and all booked out, other vans we have approached are also booked, what seems to happen is the great demand for vans to go up country for new year and enterprising van owners and rental companies hire out as package rates for groups and make far more money that your quoted 7/800 a day. By the way that is the cheapest rate I have ever seen, cheapest rate I have had so far is 1000 a day.

Lumpini car rent is not bad, - just near Lumpini Police station, - decent car costs about 1200 per day - not sure re vans.

All rentals were booked, vans that is and Lumpy rentals were around 11-1200b last time I enquired and extra 500 if driver. We ended up getting a 4wd with driver for 1200b and it turned into the lampoons vacation, never mind though.
Would apprecitae that van contact for future referance though when you get a chance.

Hi Guys - it's my first post so no flaming please 
I am interested in establishing whether this, or indeed ANY van or vehicle would be available for a "one-way" hire down from Bangkok to Phuket. Why may you ask? Well I am keen to take two or three days to travel via road down to what I know as Paradise, and see a lot of what's in between on the way. I want to stop at some small village or town every now and then and have a beer or three and check the scene - just because it will be so tripped out and different. Many of you probably are still asking why
I am going to be arriving early April with a mate or two for Songkran at Patong ....anyone that wants to join us is more than welcome.
Any suggestions on places to see and stop?
