will be moving to thailand in august and looking for the better air rates. have done some research and still not set on a flight and looking to see what anyone else might know. as i am moving, i can do with a one-way ticket but will also consider a cheap RT only if it has a 12 month validity. thnx

about 2 weeks ago there were RT tix to thailand on nothwest for $646 from LAX...i check periodically as i too am looking forward to going back next feb.
i checked today but they are no longer offering that promotional rate. let me know if you find something.

Brother SBX those special fares with NWA ( And for most airlines for that matter ) are usually only offered during low travel seasons, like right now through the end of Oct. If you're planning on going in Feb., which is during high tourist season, then I have my doubts that you'll be able to find any fares, anywhere, for less then double the price you just quoted. Anythings possible I suppose but let the buyer beware. Peace

roughly, my goal is under $500. found cathay thru a travel agent for 1am on sat the 16th for 483. (if i have to be in an airport at 1 am do i want to be in lax at the start of the trip or bkk on the backside? kind of nice to into bkk at noon, or at least that is my current thinking. there are a lot of carriers leaving around 1am.)
in may united had 350 one way! another option is that thai airways has RT for 850 with 12 mos validity.
have not been able to find good internet rates (though i know they have to be out there somewhere). i think it was united and they have a special for aug/sept for about 423 but no seats avail.

Korea Airlines has a good rate on their webiste, but I don't think it is good for 12 months on the return trip.

I hear you. $646 was the quoted fare with the Feb. 2 - 23, 2004 dates just 2 weeks ago but I had no money to cop the tix. My trip this past Feb. 2003, I bought my tix for about $700 last Dec.
hopefully, i'll be able to find something similar but you may very well be right about tix. I'm on NWA and a few other cheaptix email lists that send me what deals they offer throughout the year.
All i need is one more flt to asia then i'll have enough freq. miles for a 2nd trip to LOS in 2004.

I paid $620 out the door at a travel agency last November. When low season begins, sometime in early November, prices drop. I expect the same thing to happen this year.
