Hey folks,
Fresh from my trip to Singapore, Cambodia, and LOS (indulged in all three places), I am a bit jumpy about things. It is Cambodia in particular that I am worried about. I have also banged a Cambodian chick in Singapore and my condom ripped, much to my dismay and the girl's indignation.
Anyway, to cut a long story short, I was struck by an eye irritation in my right eye yesterday which worsened throughout the day. I am now sitting at work with a reddish eye - feels like there is something there. On top of that, there is a very mild scratchiness in my throat which goes away and comes back.
Am I overreacting or does this warrant a trip to the family doctor?

Most likely you are ok but you should always have a visit to the doc after a trip of "risky behavior". Although your chances of catching things decreases with the use of a condom it is certainly not 100%. Most likely you are devloping symptoms based on your reaction to the condom breaking. I mean just reading your story is making my eye itch. It's best to get tested after every trip to make sure you are disease free. Just my opinion.

For peace of mind go to your MD. Next time a condom rips or you don't use one, I would suggest the following.
Take a piss and wash your penis off with soap and water. Very effective. I bring anti-bacterial baby wipes that have alcohol in them. I keep them in the bathroom and use them. So far 25 trips and no problems.

Thanks for a speedy reply. I will see my doc as soon as I get out of the office.
Now that I am thinking about it, there was another thing which I wrote off while there. It happened the following morning (after that condom malfunction incident) - I had this constant urge to urinate which was nothing like I've ever felt before in my life.
Anyway, I'll see a doctor a.s.a.p. Should have done that as soon as I've arrived. Lesson learned.

It was not more than 15 years ago than the majority of Thais thought you couldn't get Aids if you showered 5 times a day.....

In all fairness to DrBig, it's *not a bad idea* to urinate and wash with soap and anti-bacterial wipes, but given the pathology of the average germ, and the speed with which they are able to spread in the genital region/tissues during sexual activity, he is really only providing the most minor of additional defenses, in case he did get in contact with a carrier or infected body.
None of which is effective against AIDS, if the punter has an open sore, cut, or any other direct path into the bloodstream.
Then again, contrary to popular fear, the chances of catching AIDS can be minimal to zero, when proper minimal precautions are being taken - and even very minimal when they are are not. The plethora of other beasties should be a far bigger concern.
Please let us know what your doctor visit yields, Golden Star.

Well, saw the good doctor yesterday. Turned out I simply had a pinkeye (eye infection). I still did a blood test though just to be safe, but for now, it looks like my worst fears have been overblown, thank Lord Buddha. Thanks to all for your help.
