I would like some opinions here from guys who have experience in BKK's nightlife. Over 10 years I usually used condoms although many times I did not. My personal experience has told me that it may be virtually impossible to acquire HIV through straight vaginal sex although anal sex is a different story. Yesterday I was involved in a massive fight at the correctional facility where I work and was ordered by my Captain to receive a blood-test. Apparently the inmate has full-blown AIDS and although I cut him none of the blood got on me. The problem is my test comes back in three days and I am scared. I guess I thought I would never get tested. WHAT ARE THE CHANCES OF GETTING HIV FROM STRAIGHT VAGINAL SEX (NO ANAL AND CERTAINLY NO IV DRUG USE Thanks

#1, being HIV +ve is no longer the death sentence it used to be proported to be.
Being tested and discovering you are HIV +ve early and being treated with the right drugs will keep you alive for a normal course of life.

Whether the guy is full blown aids (In the UK this is judged by a CD4 count of less than 200) or not, he is HIV +ve and therefore infectious.

Ok, just to let you know I have a mate who has recently found out his missus, an ex Bg is HIV +ve, he has been with her 6 years, f***ed her every which way but loose including anal, and yet still when he is tested (3rd test now over 9 months) still is not HIV +ve. he is married to her and loves her to bits so is sticking by her, (good man) though as you can imaging now only protected sex.

The internet says that the 1st 3 weeks of infection are when you are most contagious, so if you are a lucky guy, you will be ok.

But going through life not being tested is seriously cutting back your chances of living a long and fruitfull life mate, HIV +ve or not.
Anti viral Drugs today can reduce viral load to undetectable levels, folk live normal lives, but only if they are detected early enough.
Get tested regularly guys, it's your life.
Deadly serious Bash

BEWARE OF ANY MEDICAL ADVICE YOU GET FROM SOME GUY ON THE INTERNET ESPECIALLY MINE.

FOR ACCURATE UP TO DATE INFO http://www.cdc.gov

IMHO It's very difficult for a healthy man with a non impaired immune system to catch AIDS?HIV from a women. If the following is true. You have no cuts or abrasions on your penis that allows easy access to your blood.

Before I take a women, I check myself for cuts and abrasions and I look into her eyes and check for a yellow tint. Good field test for hepatitis. I check for needle marks.

When I finish with a women, I take a leak, wash myself off with soap and water or use anti-bacterial baby wipes.

SMART PUSSY HOUND USES A CONDOM.

What what what, a fight yesterday and a blood test today ? Makes no sense: nonsense!

Everybody actively taking part in our business should know that any reliable blood test can be done not earlier than 3 to 6 month after the exposure!

Some people think (as I did long time) *every* single sexual intercourse with an HIV+ve person definitely leads to an infection. This is not true. In fact not even the bell-end but only the urethra in you dick has a mucosa, and only a mucosa can absorb the virus, any normal, healthy skin is a secure wall against it, so the chance of contact is *limited*...

But we all should understand that even a limited chance is a nice little chance, right ???

Just think of any limited positive chance, like finding a real sex goddess amongst all the starfish girls, but we are all desperately looking for it...

Me thinks it is good practise amongst cultured sinners to only go out with a raincoat...

But I also follow BigDusa: "BEWARE OF ANY MEDICAL ADVICE YOU GET FROM SOME GUY ON THE INTERNET ESPECIALLY MINE" 555

I have read some interesting research on HIV and Thailand

http://www.virusmyth.net/aids/data/epthai.htm

It's pretty heavy stuff, but I think the most relavence for people on this board with Thai girlfriends / wifes especially from the north is when it discusses the efficacy of the HIV test itself and suggests that healthy people can give positive test results if they have had exposure to TB, malaria or leprosy ( amongst many other things). These will produce the same antigen response as the HIV virus (the test does not test for the presense of the HIV virus), and I would suggest that it should be considered if you are going for tests with your teerak.

BANGKOK, Thailand - Thailand was once considered a model in the fight against AIDS, but the man behind that success says the country of 63 million has returned to the days of ignorance and that the disease is making a deadly comeback.

Mechai Viravaidya is widely known as Mr. Condom for the aggressive condom distribution and public education campaign he began in the 1990s. He believes there were 25,000 new infections last year, well over the official figure of 19,000.

While that is much less than the 143,000 infections the government counted in 1991, Mechai says the number is growing fast because of unprotected sex, especially among young people.

"It's clear that AIDS has returned to rise again.... We've gone back to days of ignorance," said Mechai, who is conducting a second AIDS awareness campaign. "There's no reason why next year it won't be 100,000 new cases."

When Thailand recorded its first AIDS case in 1984, the country was believed to be on the verge of a huge AIDS epidemic due to its enormous sex industry. It was estimated that without action, an estimated four million people would be infected by 2002.

The government went into denial, and things changed only in the 1990s when Mechai, a senator and the chairman of a private population association, persuaded the prime minister to head the National AIDS Committee. The budget to fight the epidemic increased 50-fold, and radio and television stations were required to broadcast AIDS education.

The current government of Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra has spent considerable sums on caring for and providing free anti-retroviral drugs to HIV-positive people. But Thaksin has not attended meetings of the National AIDS Committee or mentioned AIDS in his statements to Parliament since he took office in February 2001.

"The government budget, the lack of the declaration, the prime minister's abdication from the role, and the consequent weak public education program has resulted in what we have today: a tremendous increase," Mechai said.

Thai government spokesman Suraphong Suebwonglee denied the government was neglecting AIDS but said officials have had to contend with other public health threats.

"In the past two to three years, there has also been bird flu and dengue fever prevention, as well as disease prevention because of food safety and cigarettes," Suraphong told The Associated Press.

He said Thaksin shares Mechai's concern that AIDS will spread among youth. On Saturday Thaksin announced a policy to prevent youth delinquency, including "inappropriate" sexual behavior.

In 2004, sexually transmitted diseases among youth shot up at least 30 percent, and Mechai believes AIDS is on a similar track.

The government estimates 1 million Thais have been infected with HIV and 500,000 have died; Mechai believes there have been 2 million infections and 800,000 HIV/AIDS deaths.

"We think it's underestimated. We don't want to be nasty and call it a lie, but I think it's pretty close to it," Mechai said.

The U.N. Development Program warned in July 2004 that there were clear signs of an AIDS resurgence, with government spending on HIV/AIDS programs dropping from $82 million in 1997 to $25 million in 2003.

Mechai has given up on the government and has started buying condoms to distribute wherever he goes, insisting Thailand need only repeat its earlier successful strategy of public education and condoms. Only 20 percent to 30 percent of young people use condoms consistently, he said.

"With the demise and disappearance of public education, people think it's gone. I've had some kids say to me, 'Is AIDS still around?'" Mechai said.

One bar girl in Nana wanted to have unprotected sex with me when I was there this month. Keep protected guys.
