asiaboy, My doctor was very adament that these products where dangerous and inneffective. He stated the only product he would recommend was "proscar" sold under a different name but proscar is the same product but 4 times stronger originally used for "prostrate" problems.
Buy the "proscar " and cut into 1/4's.
I had great success in stopping hair loss over several years but have recently stopped taking the product.

But I scare of any side-effects related, if a man with no protrate problem takes.
Have you got any instructions, 1/4 a day or...?
And continuous time of taking pills.
You must have been using for years so has it effected you noticeably ?

Knew a girl who was worried about losing her hair and Bumrumgrad prescribed minoxidil, liquid form. I found it for her in KS but the hospital was cheaper. Only a few hundred baht for stuff that lasted months. Twice daily application.

She went to see a doc at the hospital for a check on the hair. He prescibed. probably the best way. The doc can give a better opinion of what and how much. Tell him that you are going overseas and he will give lots of medicine.
KS is a pharmacy near Robinsons on Suk. Probably other pharms do this too.

asiaboy, The product originally designed for prostrate problems is marketed in Australia as "PROSCAR" each pill contains 5mg of "Finasteride". Once the side effect of hair growth or at least the cessation of hair loss was noted the company re-released under the name " PROPECIA" which contains 1mg "Finasteride" that sells for around 2,700BHT per pack ( AUS$90").
The original Proscar is also around 2,700BHT per pack but when cut into quarters obviously makes it 4 times cheaper.The other benefit is that "proscar" can be claimed against most "private medical insurance companies".
Side effects as with all products are long,, but I found no problems. One thing you must be VERY carefull about is not to allow any female ESPECIALLY a pregant female to come in contact with the product ( yes it can be absorbed through the skin). The Finasteride acts as a testosterone blocker, testosterone is a major key to hair loss.
I used the product for about 5 years and hair loss stopped and there was also some improvement. The company warns that once you stop using the product all the gains you have made will fall out very fast,, but I have not noted that,,, just returned to the slow thinning that was present before usage.
Yes, you will need a doctors certificate to get it ( I c an only say that 100% sure in Aus).
I imagine the product would be available "world wide".
