Have a friend who just went through this, he is insured and never saw a bill, (in U.S.)
About a month before the procedure the hospital mailed a package w/a special napkin you wipe your ass with and then send that back (yuk) so they can check for blood
One day before you drink a gallon of something to flush you out
Procedure day took about an hour with sedation, this person had 2 non cancerous polyps removed, next day good as new
Anybody gone through this in LOS, if so, similar procedure? and cost
Will be checking this out at PTY International Hospital to compare costs, no insurance coverage for me in U.S.
(If you've had this done in U.S. what did it cost)
Did a search, nothing came up, including Eden

Did you have this done in the U.S., if so do you recall the cost and how did you feel the next day?
I might do this in LOS on my last day of vacation, curious if I could handle the airplane ride

I had this done years ago and, while it was unpleasant, I most vividly recall the aftermath.
When the procedure was complete, I had a large amount of air in my intestine that had to be released. The nurse pointed me in the direction of the nearest toilet and I proceeded there with some haste.
After sitting down, I had a fart of a lifetime that lasted some 23 seconds. I heard some laughter from outside the toilet but paid it little heed.
Upon exiting the toilet, the nurses were standing there with grins on their collective faces, giving me the 
Seems I had set a local fart record.

Camera up the arse may be uncomfortable, but you guys should try the camera up the eye of your dick to check the bladder, now that is seriously uncomfortable and done with no sedation (at least they did not give me any).
The embarrasment factor was off the scale when the one doctory and 3 or 4 nurses did the procedure. They do not pump in air but pass saline solution down the tube to fill the bladder so that they can see the walls properly. AT the end of the procedure I ended up running to the toilet as it felt like my bladder was going to burst, took a very long piss which burnt like hell. The nurse told me afterwards she enjoyed doing these procedures as it was a little payback for all the embarrasing procedures and examinations that women need to have.
I will be very happy never to undergo this again, and as the result was clear I hope it was a one off experience.

Had it (coloscopy) done at Bumrungrad hospital in BK in 2006 cause of occult blood in my shits (makes it black and slimy). Had a gastroscopy as well, which is the easier part of the full range scopy... Totally negative results (as in "no findings") though.
Funny thing is, they record a movie of the doctors journey though your intestines and you get it on DVD even without asking when you check out. Talk about too much information LOL
Sorry, can't remember what I paid... Been there stationary some days anyway cause of poor blood values. Coloscopy was totally easy since it's done in general anaesthesia.
Biggest problem is drinking gallons of that nasty stuff they serve you and flushing out that and the sincere check by the nurse if whatwever came out of your ass in the most resent sit-in before flushing the toilet is totally clear water in which the good doctor can do his virtual dive...
Important notice: At Bumrungrad digestive ward (or however it is called) make sure you see doctor NUSENT! He's really great, but others I've seen before him at Bumi where true morons...
