Putting some proverbial wood in one’s pencil just got a bit cheaper for men in Thailand.
Yep, Thailand’s Government Pharmaceutical Organisation (GPO) will launch its own brand of generic Viagra pills called Silagra in the domestic market Oct. 15.
GPO managing director Witit Artavatkun said the drug will be cheaper than the widely-known and imported Viagra and its availability will counter the spread of counterfeit products in the market.
Silagra will be on sale in two sizes: 50mg (for those needing just a little assistance) and 100mg (for those who need some serious lift).
A 50mg Silagra pill will sell for THB25 while imported drugs are sold at THB200 each, Dr Witit said according to MCOT.
How is it their 'own' GPO brand when Cipla Pharmaceuticals of India owns that name? More accurate would be there are licensing (or buying and reselling) Silagra from Cipla.
