Actually Yurune,
There is or was a shop on Orchid Road, in Singapore called "Condomania" and they sold full size condoms, I mean the ones that go over your head and whole body, if you interested.
Its a great shop to buy the secretaries presents, particularly if you are looking to give her a hint that you want to get into her pants.
I once bought mine a bouquet made out of condoms and suggested ........................!

First, taking Zithromax as prophylaxis is a TERRIBLE idea. It is QUITE toxic, and liver transplants are not as much fun as having Chlamydia...
Second, taking ANY antibiotic, without culture/sensitivity invites superinfection, where the mismatched antibiotic kills off all the weaker strains of the bug, and leaves only the most resistant alive to reproduce (rapidly). This not only jeapordizes you, but introduces resistant strains to others, and renders antibiotics ineffectual. Not good.
The test for Chlamydia is simple now (urine or blood). And the treatment is ONE dose of Zithromax...
Be careful...

Thanks Haam Sup....I knew Zithromax was not good....but couldn't remember the reasons why....I choose to pickle my liver with beer...don't need anything else getting in the way.....

On addition to what h-s says:
I understand that when taking antibiotics, one should refrain from drinking alcohol, as doing so decreases the effectiveness of the antibiotic.
Are you guys saying that you have been coming here and not drinking during your trip? If you did, then it would have been a bit stupid, because in addition to the disadvantages brought by what h-s says, ... you actually negated also the possible effectiveness by drinking?

Indeed that is the main reason not to drink on antibiotics as it masks the drug......the going loopy bit is largley an old wives tale nowadays....but I believe Zithromax has side effects beyond that with alcohol....liver related...

Apparently alcohol and zithromax can make you depressed......is Craig the miserable bloke in the corner of Nana plaza???.....I very much doubt it....ever get depressed in BKK Craig?
It is also used as a prophylaxis for MAC...whats MAC?
seems to be HIV related.....

About alcohol and antibiotics: some antibiotics (Flagyl) can make you VERY sick, if you drink while taking them. Others are eliminated through the liver, and alcohol reduces the liver's function, so the drug may increase in concentration to higher levels than are good for you.
This varies from drug to drug, and many other common foods interfere with various drugs: calcium rich foods (milk) and tetracyclines, antacids and Zithromax, etc. Be sure to read the product info if your doc or pharmacist hasn't explained it (they should).
Self-medication is really a very bad idea.
Zithromax may cause a rare, serious form of jaundice, and is not recommended if you have any liver problems.
Pseudomembranous colitis, an overgrowth of a bacteria related to the bacteria that cause botulism and tetanus can be a consequence of prolonged antibiotic use, with MOST of the newer, broad spectrum drugs. Zithromax prescribing info warns about this.
My Rx:
Wear a condom, and decide if the risk of oral/ocular Chlamydia (or other bugs) is worth the fun of 'gin hoi'.
Get tested, cheaply in BKK, and treated, if necessary, before you return home...
