I agree with Chuck we need to let this go so this will be my last post
On the matter of some bars smoking and some not. It can't work. No bar will volunteer to potentially redirect patrons away to other bars where they can smoke and employees and patrons will breathe second hand smoke. So if one establishment has to be smoke free they all have to be.
Exception: Bars where the owner is the sole worker in the bar, assuming his or her own health risk. As enterprising as Thais tend to be, this could be a thriving industry in Pattaya, with many solo staffed bars perhaps a smoking soi even.
But certainly no BGs employed there

anyone remember the dive bar "Wongs" near soi nam doo pree and near a certain hotel that had a less than attractive reputation???? "Malaysia" I think it was....
Wong would put on all sorts of Vids from old school "top of the pops" to classic "Elvis"...he was a cool guy..
smoking got him and he went pretty damn fast from diagnosis....
some good memories I had with that chinese guy and his guitar......
to each there own...my wine drinking isnt something I would want to pass on to my kids but it really only hurts me in the physical realm...
I will thank my parents for the fact I never have smoked cigs (did the weed for a few years)...as I remember they never did and even remember my oldest hippie sister get a whoppin' (yes thats what we got as kids back in 1970's Georgia) when my dad caught her smoking...she stopped from that day forth and we all laugh about it to this day.....
to each there own...but after living in LA it really is the best scenario to just step outside...MO, sorry smokers!

Sounds great BK,, they even have the "hookas" smoking pipe at the restaurant attached,, with the apple flavoured tobacco.
I must also recommend the food at Bamboo,, if you like tabouli, humous, babagonoush etc,, you will love their food.
If this becomes the last bastian of freedom to smoke and have a Brew / Scotch,, I may well change religions,, ROFLMAO.

Yes and no drunks getting ashes in your drinks, burning holes in your clothes or burning your GF's legs.
Plus when you take you GF home her hair or yours does not smell like an ash tray.
Mel should have fun at the Bamboo bar, ground zero for all the Arabs in their PJ's
