Yeah the soap thing.....a mate came up from Phuket & used a spare room in the apartment I borrowed.
Didn't bring his own soap - too used to hotels. Anyway, that won't happen again.

For the info. of brothers in a similar situation:
Update from doc. Rash is fungal & reacting well to Anti Fungal cream a.m & Cortasone cream in p.m.
Awaiting other STD tests, which are timely anyway, but no nasty symptoms, and doc. thinks any STD including HIV unlikely due to short exposure, no open sores/wounds on me or girl, and that she is so insistent on condom use as long as I knew her, which is around eighteen months.
However, no unprotected sex with anyone for a little while - if I've got something, don't want to share.
I should have clearance just before next tour....now that's something to look forward to!

Could be worse - as illustrated by this report in The Nation 9 Sept 05-
About 20 per cent of female sex workers hanging around the Sanam Luang area recently tested positive for HIV, the Bangkok health department said yesterday.
Dr Parnrudee Manomaipiboon said 115 women had volunteered to undergo the test during an annual check-up conducted from May 1 to June 15.

wow. crazy stats. of the ladies who volunteered to be tested, it can probably be assumed that those who knew or suspected they were positive did not volunteer (for fear of losing face). so 20% were unpleasantly surprised. sux.
