If MRI scans are cheap and readily available how come private hospitals get away with charging between UKP600 to UKP1000 for one?

 I didn't say they were cheap, and I didn't say they were readily available.
However if you have symtoms which are considered to require identification from an MRI you will get one for free in the UK.

Actually I'm due to have an MRI scan done, but as with most things in the UK, if it isn't life threatening, who knows how long I will wait.
How much for an MRI at Bumrungrad Abrak?...I may take one there next time I'm over.
Someone I know recently had an MRI scan in the UK that was £3000 (large area)

I think it was about UKP150. It was so low it didnt really enter my worldview. Incidentally fully qualified nurses are paid Bt150/hour to wait on your every need (well not quite every need).

Well best way to go is by sky train to Ratchadamri. Get off on the Exit 1 Walk about 1,000 meters on the same side Think it is inthe old Niranam clinic. across the road from Lumpini Park.
