Don't you wonder why you have to bring your original passport with you for the HIV test?
The results are ready in just a few hours, and if you test positive it is then very easy to check you out of the country on the next flight home.....lololol, with that nice black "No Entry" stamp. Think about it...
It's good to be safe, but why is it the only test requiring you having your original passport in order to get the test.

Don't know why no one has mentioned St Louis Hospital
It is located right at the Surasak BTS stop on the Sala Daeng/Satorn line.
Skinny; For general checkups they are great and much cheaper than Bangkok Hosp, BNH or Bumrungrad.
I have had 3 done in recent years all to my satisfaction.
Half the cost of other hospitals.
My wife had tumors removed from her uterous at St Louis by a very prefessional surgeon who was part time affiliated with Siriraj.
The cost was 33% of what Bumrungrad quoted.
Care and Facilities were excellent.
My experience at Bumrungrad is they are procedure and surgery prone as others have said. It is a business first and medical facility 2nd. They load you up with meds too.

I also heard good stuff at St. Louis too and cheaper than others but did not give it a try yet...may be my next visit.
Yes, it's better to take BTS there b/c traffic on Sathorn is very bad too.
