Ahh, name calling, the last resort of the truly dim.

Yes, but of course the second to last resort is the ad hominem attack. We conveniently have an example of that in the message VJ was replying to.

You pay money to have sex with women who if they had any wouldn't go with you. If they were rich most wouldn't give us the time of day.

Absolutely not true. There are plenty of women who offer sexual services who are significantly richer than their customers. "Whoring" as you called it, is inherently no better or worse than spending money on any other type of entertainment, despite what your emotional attack tries to imply.

Rich women make the best whores.
If your extra good they might even pay you.
But pay them anyway.
Making them feel cheap is worth a lot to them.

Oops wrong thread!

But if HIV is a myth, maybe this thread is too.

Never mind.

Read these statistics while having a hair cut. They relate to the US.

94% of all AIDs/HIV cases in men are either homosexuals or intravaneous drug users or both.

Figure may be understated since some patients may not admit to being homosexual or intravenous drug user.

Chances of catching HIV/Aids from unprotected sex with a woman (assuming neither of you are intravenous drug users) is 1 in 5,000,000. If you use a condom it is 1 in 50,000,000.

Chances of catching the virus if you have a single sex act with a woman who already has HIV/Aids is 1 in 1,100.

Dont sue me if these stats are all complete bollocks.

I have stated this before and will add it again...

I know a man that lives with a HIV infected woman in Europe... They lived for 4 years having unprotected sex of ALL types... When she became ill they discoved the HIV infection and he assumed that it was a certainty he would also be at the earlier stages of infection. He is / was not !!!

So 4 years of having daily unprotected sex with an HIV infected person and the man still is HIV free... I have no idea what they now do for protection and sex, she is now on meds and seems to be responding pretty well.. CD4 levels are back up (they were sub 150 when discoverd) to a 'healthy' range and Docs are saying 10 - 15 years is highly likely for the lovely lady..

These people are my friends and I am regularly in contact. This disease is a cruel heartbreaking bastard of a thing, but from the evidence I have seen as long as sex is not 'violent' causing tearing of skin and or bleeding (but I know they used to assplay) it really does seem that the transfer of the virus from women to men is not nearly as likely as media and public service seems to indicate. Of course the simple mechanics of the act mean that transfer from an infected man to an uninfected woman is much much higher.

First of all, in the western world, we 'believe' in science, i.e. statistics.
Give you guys one example:
Q: 2% of all hiv-infections is caused by oral sex in 1990 but 20% in 2003. Is this an increase?
(Answer on the forum in a few days, feel free to respond

Well, here's the answer...
It depends on the number of infections:
2% of 1000 = 20
but 20% of 90 = 18

And so: the internet is not 'just' a reliable source for information.
What is the context...

---------
Second about 'that' guy.
I know one guy too, who never wants to wait when he cross the street in Bangkok. So he close his eyes and just walk to the other site.
He lives here in BKK for more then 4 years and never had any accident.
So now everybody knows how to be safe in (..) trafic: just close your eyes.

The usual statistics and bullsh_t.

You can believe anything, my friends, and make the staistics fit accordingly.
There is a society that still believes the earth is flat?
There are people who believe that the holocaust did not happen and that the killing of jews was just propoganda?
There are people who believe that you can not catch HIV from unprotected sex?

Look - You CAN catch the HIV virus from unprotected sex. There are ways to increase your chances - rough anal (in fact rough anything) licking open wounds, like kissing that cut on her finger better! (you guys see any leisions down there while going down on her?) Entering her before she is wet and ready, and causing her to tear and bleed, that cut or open ulcer in her mouth whilst she is chewing on the end of your knob - need I go on?
Guys, please! I know the chances are slim, but that doesn't mean it is impossible not to catch it???

Just be f_cking careful and use some protection!

Yes and no. It depends on the increase you are asking about?

One of the most damaging use of statistics is shown by politicians when they draft legislation based on statistics they do not understand. It doesn't matter they had the best intentions a they screwup anyway.

Maybe we should discuss HIV/AIDS in Thailand or else this thread may be soon lost into oblivion.

Papa

F*cked where you got your supposed stats on the oral transmission of HIV but here in Oz I have spoken to many health workers and they have all told me the chances of oral transmission of HIV is extremely remote.
There have been many studies on the subject!!

Of course, one can get a lot of other nasties so Listerine and other precautions are always advisable to minimise the risk.

.. your supposed stats on the oral transmission of HIV

..... so Listerine

Well, the answer about the suppost stats: see '3' Up 2 You.

About the Listerine: I think it's NOT advisable. It will kill your normal bacterial enviroment in your mouth, giving other bacteria a better change.
(but again: it's my personal opinion, so far I know no publications or research about that)
