So, it is no longer called the 'Swine Flu' - the US pork association in the US has complained that the current name negatively affects their sales (as people buy less pork because of it), and thus, ever concerned about the wellfare of their own wallets, they requested that US officials no longer refer to it as 'swine flu'.

US Federal officials, never short of creative brilliance, have thus begun to verbally stumble over the much more intuitive term 'H1N1 flu', which clearly rolls off the tongue like so much curdled milk.

Subsequently, in a twist of irony yet brilliance, it is the Israeli government which has also rejected the term 'swine flu' (after all, pigs are unclean), but come up with the far more intuitive, and easier to pronounce (not to say, more accurate) term of 'Mexico Flu' - a term that appears to get adopted quicker worldwide that the verbal clusterf*** of 'H1N1 flu', which is probably heading towards a quick death itself.

Thus, the word of the day, when in reference to the flu - "Olé!"

I'm going by what the current term used is, which appears to not be contingent on proper English grammar.

The current term? I am not convinced.

In an interview I heard today with the Head Flu Doctor for the WHO stated that the Swine Flu:

Is no more severe than the common flu,

Is missing the 'Killer Genes' of the Spanish version of the Swine Flu,

Its death rate is probably less than reported because the cause of death (pneumonia) is caused by many different forms of infection and these is no conclusive evidence that all of the victims had Swine Flu.

In summary Swine Flu is something to be concerned about but not the killer pandemic that the Mainline Media wants...

right now harmless, the worry is mutation. It takes as little as 2 weeks for influenza to mutate and sometimes never does. So the real issue that the govt. NEVER talks about is right now there is no risk, but if it mutates we are all f***ed. that is why the concern is there. If you want more detailed info, PM me, I am on the Board of a company that works in this area.

Viruses have a habit of mutating in order to keep their host alive for a longe rperiod of time in order to spread. With this mutation comes lower death rates... you see, viruses are smart. They mutate in order to propagate. that is the fear. If it mutates, we do not know how it will mutate and how deadly the mutation will be. Simple stuff really. I quite admire viruses.
