... I am by nature quite sceptical, but after reading portions of this stuff, I admit that they have me wondering... not yet enough to take the risk, the cost of failure being a bet far too great to lose.

... found it... a film documentary titled 'Aids, Inc.'... well-researched and sourced... this is pretty compelling stuff and well-worth viewing, especially for guys who do what we do.

I do not suggest this as comfort for those who do choose to expose themselves, or a counter-rationalization to those who might want to drop their shields... separate from my personal well-being, the collateral damage of being wrong on this is simply too catastrophic to even remotely consider... I have kids whose entire futures rely upon my staying around awhile... not a bet I am prepared to make.

35 people get HIV each day in Thailand

Each day, up to 35 more people have come down with HIV on average and Aids has now accounted for one-thirds of deaths among Thai youth.
"Our campaign will seek to reduce the number of new infections," Prof Dr Chuanchom Sakondhavat yesterday said as the director of Khon Kaen University's Aids Institute.
She was speaking at an event held to mark the World Aids Day, which falls on December 1 every year.
According to her, about 14,000 people caught HIV in 2006. Her institute, therefore, has drawn up a four-year strategy to try to cut the number of infections to just 7,000 a year by 2011.

I have a close friend that works in Soi Cowboy. I have known her for the 6 years she has worked in the same bar. She is very popular as she not only looks cute but has a heart to match. 18 months ago she contracted HIV through unprotected sex with a client. She told me about the condition just over a year ago and also said she would continue to work as long as she could. She didn't tell anyone at the bar. When I asked her how she could get away with working at the bar with the monthly tests the girls have to have in that bar, she replied that her tests, and I assume those of others, were done at a clinic in soi 4 and that she hadn't visited the clinic in 4 years! The test papers provided to the bar were fake and all she needed to do was pay 800 baht a time. I then asked her about what she intended to do about clients' safety. Her reply was and I quote, "They gave to me and so I give back!" I know the manger there very well and I have had many restless nights pondering what to do about this. In the end I will do the sensible thing and do nothing. I am not judging her or her clients and perhaps they do deserve each other. We all know that having unprotected sex is like Russian roulette but deep down inside I do feel weak, I must admit.
FOOTNOTE: I have now discovered that there is more than one girl at this bar working with HIV

Jingjo,having chosen to tell this Forum that there are at least 2 girls in a Soi Cowboy Bar who have AIDS,don`t you have an obligation to disclose the name of the Bar?
As you say you could have said nothing,but now surely you must identify the Bar.
Edit.I apologize Jingjo.I did not read your post with sufficient care.You merely reported what somebody else said about a Soi Cowboy Bar,not what you had first hand knowledge about.

QQ is right... there are a lot more infected girls in P4P areas than one thinks.... Hell, I had Staff in my company that were diagnosed with AIDS and HEPC... and they're not even P4P people.
