Well there is no escaping the universal law that you get what you pay for. Has anyone ever noticed that there are never any ads for Gentle Dentistry or pain-free dentistry.
Well it seems most commonly prescribed pain killers such as Vicodine or any other Hydrocodone pain relievers are unavailable in Thailand, Over the counter Paracetamol is as good as it gets. Remember this as the local wears off that you are stuck in a 3rd world country, but you saved a buck. Illegal drugs seem to be easier to get than commonly available painkillers in Western countries.

Well, I've never had any problems with my Bangkok dentist; I had a bridge made, and I felt nothing - and it involves drilling into two healthy teeth!
About the advertising... We don't see any advertising for pain-fre dentistry here either, in Switzerland. Yet I'm sure it exists (after all, the Swiss drugs industry is pretty substantial). Probably more to do with the type of advertising allowed or expected.

I always get mine done the day I fly out parecetamel work fine, I have not been to a denist in the west in
15 yrs why for f***s sake I dont even have insurance.
Dentists in los just as good as anywhere else its not saving a few bucks but not being shafted for lots of bucks for needless work that counts.

In January 07.
I went to a dentist in Rambutri on Khosan road,for a full
set of dentures.
I got a quote in the Uk 1500 pounds.
I had fantastic treatment,and a set that I wear now and I can actually bite into an apple, never did with the old pair.
Price 10,000 Bht £142 Bht was high then

Let me dust this baby off,
I posted here before my 2006 trip but needed an update...when living in bkk my dentist was at St. Louis hospital (I hope he is still there)....but I dont have to use him...
Does any bro here have a current estimate of what a "deep cleaning" costs or a good dentist? My last one in 2003 was about $200 US compared to a grand here...
any recommendations are appreciated..

Last time I did a deep cleaning, along with x-rays, I paid roughly 2,000 baht.

$250 or $300? Sounds like a great deal. Tell you what, next time we're in bkk, send me the $250, and I'll take care of setting up reservations for the dentist, and I'll take care of the bill for you - and then treat you to a nice dinner and soapy.

so you would basically be like all the "personal managers" out in Hollywood 
Seriously, PM me the dentist you had your deep cleaning.
oh and I forgot that $200 I paid back in '03 also included 2 exposed roots filled in...but after several attempts I couldnt seem to get a happy ending from the St Louis nurse.
