I have been tested at: -
Genito-Urinary Medicince (GUM) Sexual Health Clinic
here in the UK after my last trip to Thailand. Squeaky clean for everything after six months, my next trip approaching (and im meeting my gf again) we had a frank discussion about sexual health… and about being apart for that period of time…it does cause suspensions on both sides of the pond.
I have not been sexual active since I returned to the country, so I know any test will be negative for me (but we both just want that reassurance).
I suggested we both get tested before sexual activity, they agreed that was sensible (so I booked an appointment at BNH for the both of us) for HIV testing. This being one of the scariest std’s in my eyes, but I think it be sensible if we both got tested for Hepatitis too as this destroys your liver (& can kill faster than hiv).
My questions are-
Is there a one-hour Hepatitis test?
How much do tests cost at the BNH hospital Bangkok (Convent Road) ?
How good is the Hepatitis vaccine I had done? And what does it protect against? i.e am I covered against A B C types?

The Hepatitis twin shots protect against hep A and B, there is no protection from Hep C that I know of.
Best way to avoid HEP C is to avoid contact with intravenious drug users and lady-boys /homosexuals.
Even non sexual contact with these groups can lead to Hepatitis C,, acts such as using a razor after the ladyboy shaves her legs / face,, or sharing a tooth-brush ) YUK ) can lead to infection.

I guess getting tested for type c is a good idea then.

Yes,, being tested is a very good idea. If +ve, life-style changes can extend a persons life considerably and equally important ( if not more so ) the necessary precautions can be taken so as to not infect others
.i.e not leaving your razors or toothbrush where they may be used by an innocent partner.
