After dozens of trips to Thailand many people are asked if there is one thing you wish you had done prior more? I always say - "making sure you combine exercise and lots of water/gatoade (type drinks) Alot of us are not as resilent as our arab or asian brothers - or Indian...when it comes to heat and the party time holidays- Its easy to induldge too much and forget we are sweating more than we should without fluid replacement- I am sure many brothers here who have experienced the hot seasons could vouch that carrying a water bottle and sipping down a couple of containers of gatoade /water make a difference- Avoiding burn out can be as simple as a 5 kilometer jog (on a treadmill) or morning walk- and fluid intakes- I try to eat alot of the fruit on offer in Thailand that is juicey and cheap- Watermelon - pineapple- assorted others- Avoid excessive caffine in hot climates- Get a few naps in - have a swim - limit the alcohol to say 3pm til 11pm....starting slow helps me pace- Recent years last 5-7 I have found my adventures in Thailand go much better when I maintain an exercise regime- Even if its a long heart pounding f*** in the afternoon and morning walk- Following a simple health plan works Granted sometimes the best form of exercise is indoors (without the smog ) - Many hotels have gyms- or pool- or are located in long quiet sois- where the walk in and out is optional but a good choice- Wearing a hat is no sin- Remember we (alot of us) are not designed to have constant high humid heat and pussy and booze- To get away with it you need to at least replace the bodies sweating with some fluids other than heinkiens- You never know whats at the gym downstairs either- This Japanese treadmiller inspires- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5K38TQVF-uY&feature=related The pools In Thailand have their fair share at times of eye candy too- Stay cool ::

Got to agree with DG, I must have a daily walk, jog sweat usually followed by a massage to keep me healthy in LOS. PTTY is easy for round trip jogs - beach road - around the light house. But BKK? Can any one suggest low pollution areas (parks - river?) in BKK as I loath running machines. Thxs.

If you are sukhumvit side try Benjakiti Park, it's next to the Queen Sirikit convention centre, also accessed from the even number soi side of sukhumvit up by the asok junction. Or Benjasiri Park by the emporium, although I'd choose Benjakiti as the air's fresher and not so many people... If you're silom way just head for lumpini.

Try the coconut water than the street vendors sell. The liquid is cold and refreshing, full of nutrients and hydrates the body after a hard nights trolling and partying. I can usually get two nuts for 50 baht, and I was drinking six nuts of water per day along with bottled water. MMA champ JSP drinks it during training and thats how I found out about it. The white milk of magnesia that they sell in the 7/11's that come in a small plastic bottle is also good for the upset stomach.

I do a lot of business trips around the region and DG has great advice. The exercise and fruit are faves of mine. I gotta keep my system working as I find changing countries once or twice a month screws my system up. I try to keep with decent bottled water and take a laxative on day one to clear out. Gotta get enough sleep too, even if it means partying through the night and sleeping through hot daytimes at the weekend.

Try Railway Park, the former golf course very near Chatuchak Park. Big, beautiful, bikes available, things to do and see, reasonably fresh air. Uncrowded on weekdays. Free. Take Skytrain to Morchit or Subway to Chatuchak Park station, walk west and north through skinny little Chatuchak Park, go out the northernmost park gate, cross the road, and enter Bangkok's biggest and best park.
