But grapefruit contains natural chemicals called furanocoumarins, that inhibit the enzyme, and without it the gut absorbs much more of a drug and blood levels rise dramatically."
Yeah, old news, but certainly well worth repeating.
Then again, the interactions of alcohol with a lot of drugs are well known (and frequently warned against) and it still doesn't stop many drunks to wash down their drugs with hard liquors - and then wonder how they ended up in jail.
