ABC, as explained, I stayed away from 98 and ME because I knew they were dogs; and what I didn't say was that in order to migrate to 2000 or XP I'd have to buy a whole new box, because my CPU and RAM both are inadequate for them -- but just fine for 95.

If it ain't broken, don't fix it. Microsoft and Intel whipsaw everyone with their double whammy of software and hardware upgrades. Well, I make my living off of my websites and email, and I really don't see how XP lets me write and answer my email *faster, better* than does 95, in fact, I could probably word process and do email about as well on my old long dead 386-33DX notebook running Win 3.1. (Gasp)

I should explain that I used to be the weekly software-user columnist for the Nation newspaper, before they decided to do a whole PC weekly supplement to copy the Post. So, I don't like anything from Microsoft till it's in OSR-2 or Version 2, because until then is just using the paying customers for beta testers...

I think you mean Linux not Lynx, as in Red Hat and the other free Unix clones. I am not quite enough of a techno-geek to bother with UNIX etc.

Those guys in Redmond got rich lying to IBM, and then shoving software out the door unfinished in order to steal a march on the other guys. I refuse to play the sucker game of latest/fastest.

It might be different if I NEEDED latest/fastest but I don't and very few people do, unless they are doing CAD, or running servers, or other hardware intensive tasks like that.

I'll run my Pentium 233MHz and 128 Mb RAM into the ground before I buy another box, by then it'll come with a giant flat panel plasma screen. I started on an XT and 640K RAM so, I am mildly offended by the proposition that 128 Mb of RAM is WAY INADEQUATE to support the latest OS from Mr Gates.

"But I'm a Dinosaur."

Should have got software and board when I was there. Ok next trip... Thanks anyway By the way anyone have a source of Love Letters or Poems in Thai Script.

I can get you a Keyboard, mail it to you, and throw in a CDROM of XP Thai Edition which I got free, for cost of the keyboard and the postage (which I will have to determine.)

No big deal.
