Pang!!! for sure. Cheaper in the US. I bought mine over there from a MAC distributer at CES.

Sad to say but I am back on PC now due to the MAC support here being not the best.

I have 2 MAC G4 power books both have broken down

CAAAAAAAARRRRRRRPUTTTTTT!

One I got repaired by a place in pantip made it worse now not only does the screen not work but it all does not work now.

The other MAC the inside power unit failed. Got it done by MAC specilaist in Seecon square. Now the power still does not work and the screen is cracked.

OK I give in....

back on PC. I am glad I did not forget how to do things on a PC, been a long time.

Who's buying the beers.

Get a cheap PC use it as a server and connect to mac to the LAN if the PC is using XP very easy to connect. More cheaper then buy a modem.

Guys I gonna sell this one, I'm good enough with my Sony laptop, iBook is a perfect toy, but need some skills to play with. Bought for 48150 baht, selling for 43000, brand new in box+warranty for one year etc. PM me if interested.

You're funny. Really.

UK Shaga - sounds to me like there's an opportunity for *real* Macintosh support in BKK -- everyone with Macs I've been talking to over my last few trips echoed your experience -- mostly guys that have no clue on how to fix or configure Macs. I've seen some real 'pieces of work' (which I ended up fixing quickly), but it really surprises me what passes for 'consulting' and 'service' over there on the Mac.

If your PowerBooks were new (hence, covered by warranty), why didn't you take them to any of the AppleCentres, like the one in Siam Dicovery (I believe) - if it's component-level failures, they either replace them under warranty, or send them back to Apple's hub in Asia for repair/replacement.

You may still have that option available.
