I recently spent three weeks at the CentrePoint on Petchaburi 15 and used the internet for several hours daily, as I was doing work from the apartment.
I found the connection speed varied greatly, depending on time of day. I had the fastest speeds at night, when most of the hotel guests were out on the town. At peak, I would get about 20 kbps, but that would often slow down to 12 kbps. So, it looks like their max. download speed was 256k (when you were lucky). One day, the connection went down altogether and did not work again until the next day.
I am going to be spending 3 months in BKK this coming July and have been researching other serviced apartments to see if I could find faster Internet, but not having much luck so far. Seems that most of them are at either 128 or 256. Does anyone know of any serviced apartments with 512kbps? I would be willing to pay a premium for such service.

I do have to agree with the last review of the Centre Point internet speed - at my current stay over the past week, the speed varied greatly, and appeared MUCH slower than it has been experienced previously. No idea what that may be attributed to, but it certainly used to be much faster in the past.
I *am* getting a pretty damn good rate these days (1600 Baht/night), but I might want to check out President Solitaire at my next trip, just to get a comparison.
