My spyware detector went on alert when starting torpark...
Can anyone confirm that torpark is ok?!?

yes, torpark is totally on the level, there is no spyware in it.
what it is is a modified version of the mozilla firefox browser. it works kind of like VPN in that it establishes a virtual tunnel that is routed through at least two participating servers at various places around the world. nobody can tell where you're surfing from; you can access ANY website from anywhere, including repressive regimes like thailand and china, no matter if they've blocked the site or not.
torpark is also cool in that you don't need to install it; it runs directly off the.exe file. so you can carry it around on a USB thumb drive for use in internet shops, etc., and leave no trace of where you've been on the store's machine (particularly important for places like PRC)

FYI. Was unable to access http://www.sex141.com from Westin Grande in-room Internet. Received some kind of restriction/filtered site warning message from the ISP. I was not running any type of proxy.

Go to http://www.privoxy.org. Essentially, this is peer-to-peer proxying which means the more people in the network, the better it works. It is almost impossible to trace your true location using privoxy, and local censors can't block your access to unapproved sites.
