Even though you would be limited to Wifi? Until there is a Thai carrier that supports a 3FF micro SIM, you won't have 3G or EDGE connectivity.

Word is that the contact pad of the micro-SIM is identical so there is hope that regular SIMs can be shaved down to fit.

Skip, you are truly an evil man - trying to follow-up the run away success of the earlier iPhone thread, appropriately with the iPad thread. Most likely we'll get the same assemblage of haters and detractors proclaiming it to be dead, useless, an overgrown iPod Touch, and the always popular 'PC netbooks will do a lot more for less' arguments (albeit sad to see China Sailor no longer contributing his constantly incorrect and clueless contributions). Nevertheless, kudos on starting this thread.

I preferred to see others shoot their mouths off in the usual clueless manner before jumping in.
Quote: from Oz on 1:35 pm on Jan. 29, 2010 At the prices suggested its no Netbook Killer & many people do not like typing without a proper Keyboard. It needs connectivity (USB or Mini USB).
Nice to see Oz (and LS) take the lead in that respect. - iPad bluetooth supports the Apple BT keyboard, and one of the Docks includes an attached keyboard. The iPad on-screen keyboard is the mobility keyboard. The iPad is clearly intended also as a stationary device while on-dock, and you can attach a BT keyboard to it (i'm sure wired keyboard adapters will follow). - it *needs* connectivity? Damn, I'm glad you guys thought of that, and Apple has totally missed that boat (either that, or you are unaware that each Apple device with the 30-pin connector provides USB in and OUT, either via the iPod USB cable, or any dock that provides USB access. It helps to actually *KNOW* what you are talking about before mouthing off. - iPad further provides an area of internal storage as a destination for downloaded files, that is accessible to all apps -- which shows up as a thumb drive on your desktop when you connect the iPad via it's USB connector (you know, the one Oz thinks doesn't exist). - Additional apps will allow more flexibly transfer and sharing options for files in that shared storage space (a feature most likely to find its way into iPhone 4.0 as well). - Lastly, I always adore threads where people chime in about a not yet shipping product, that they have never seen, while convinced how much of a failure it will be. I believe, if memory serves, it was the same people who said the same about the iPhone not so long ago... How'd that prediction go for you guys?
