You're talking FULL price though, for these unlocked out of the box iPhones, right ?

I know guys who were paying between 6 and $700 for unlocked "iPhone 4"s in 2010
not 4S, just iPhone 4
Unlocked iPhone 4 models have always been selling for $650-$750. There were no iPhone 4S back in 2010.

Apple always maintains the same price - you just get a better model. Thus, the prices are still the same, and you can now get an iPhone 4S. After September, the same price will get you the new iPhone (generation 6).

I see True Move's Unlimited package for iPhone is now 800b/month

Quite a deal compared to what it costs to operate one in North America.

I find in LOS the most convenient to not have a telephone period no phone = no problem.
Some Thai women are fanatic control freaks have met up with many a poor sod late a night explaining every hour on the hour where he was and with whom.
In the west I just turn it off and said the music was too loud to hear but im married so I could not give a f***.

Actually, it's no girlfriend/wife no problem. I have 3 phones, and I have no problems.

Deal

Any other country outside North America is cheaper - yeah, they raised the unlimited plan because they switched to the TOT operate TRUE H - really, just HSPA+ on a different network. You can switch over to it using your existing SIM/plan, and get the same plan for the old 600 baht, but it coud stop working unexpectedly (the TRue H plan, because it's a separate network, requires porting your number, in addition to changing plan).

Still free hotspot, and they also allow you to combine iPad and iPhone data plans under one plan, no extra charge.

Isn't that what AT&T is doing with iPhones ?
It's not a REAL 4G network yet from what I understand.

Yep, same with everyone calling LTE, something that isn't really LTE either.

The problem is that, technically, Apple is using the 4G term (as in "4th Generation Network/Protocol" properly, but every other country and regulatory organization has a different definition (ie most consider "4G" to be "LTE" - which, again, is wrong). This is what bit Apple in the ass in Australia, England and Europe, claiming the iPad was "4G", when the LTE modem only works in North America (and, granted, which is something that Apple could have easily avoided by inventing a new term denoting "HighSpeed", but they didn't - FAIL)

Either way, the best Thailand can hope for right now is HSPA+, as it can be retrofitted on existing GSM / 3G towers, and since no one even has a real 3G concession, thanks to the idiots in all prior governments, including the present one) it's doubtful there's any chance for 4G any time soon.

True are currently forcing all True 3G customers over to True-H. claiming it is 3G+ whatever that is !

You get a call from True telling you it will happen, then you get an SMS telling you to leave your phone on. at some point on the next 24hrs your phone signal stops completely and you must reboot the phone, when you do its now on True-H and your iphone asks you to register the number on the new network.

Easy enough. I'm glad I didn't bother with upgrading it 6 months ago when they told me I must go to a True shop with ID and complete a new 3 month contract to get it !

Good information - yeah, TRUE doesn't have much choice, really - their older 3G concession was about to be terminated. Glad the switch is transparent, now.

Is the TRUE coverage map the same as the TRUE 3G one? More coverage?
