Quote: from Oz on 10:28 am on Feb. 5, 2010 Connectivity through a Interface not directly means you have to carry another piece of hardware with you
Aside from the interface connector providing you with more flexibility, even with a regular USB port, you would still need to carry a USB cable with you, in order to make the connection, so I fail to see your point? If you consider the iPod to USB cable to be some sort of exotic and rare cable, then you need to surface from underneath the rock you've been living the past few years. They are ubiquitous, especially in Thailand.

I guess that's why the iPad also supports a wired keyboard connection, I guess. Knowledge? Research?
Quote: from ThaidUp on 9:33 am on Feb. 5, 2010 The one function that the iPad cannot replace in mags or newspaper is a immediate tool for killing cockroaches here in Thailand.
There's an app for that. http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/roach-madness/id310822992?mt=8

So customers with both an iPhone and an iPad can't share a single data plan between the devices by swapping the SIM. Make them buy 2 data plans.
(sigh) No. iPhone 4G will be sporting the microSIM.
Quote: from thaiaficionado on 7:24 pm on Feb. 4, 2010 The biggest issue I have is the lack of multitasking. I'll buy one for a toy, but I'll have to use an iPod for some background music while reading an eBook. I would have expected the engineers to have this enabled in the OS.
You always could play the iPod in the background, and do other things.

... is a slick CGI produced video. There is no product. There won't be any for at least 12 months. ... at which point we'll have the second generation iPad right around the corner.

Amazon announced Kindle versions for iPad, as well as other tablet computers. Smart move to remember that their core market is selling books - I look forward to seeing their Kindle'd version of Stanza, redone for the iPad. 2 more weeks to go

Agreed, also them smart folks at Amazon never report how many Kindle's they sell so one will never no how much their sales will drop. Since they are supporting the IPad they can still report how many Kindle versions of books that they sell without anyone know if it is on the Kindle or IPad. Good marketing moves.

The video reminded me of the scene in 2001:A Space Oddessy, where the monkeys discover bones as weapons, and the alpha monkey runs around trying to intimidate the other monkeys. Much as the iPad is a piece of crap, that video is a sad testament to stupid youth. I'm going to get my aluminum bat now, and go iPhone hunting... hs
