Never said your beef was with AAPL, and you only confirm what I said - that you jump in along the likes of Mr.Alan to spread misinformation (seeing as how you don't like that other word) because of personal bias against a person, not the issue..

New MacBooks - New MacBook Pros unveiled today.

Same price, faster, with larger hard drives, and more base memory.

Neat.

My goodness Mel, you have managed to insult yourself.

Anyway...

My laptop advice is simple:

Get all the ram you can.

Make sure it is light enough to lug around, if you are planning to lug it around.

I strongly suggest a full sized keyboard.

Every other issue will depend upon your application requirements and budget.

I suggest that you could spend anywhere from $500(US) to $2500 and be equally happy for mainstream apps and usage.

Whatever you buy will be "obsolete" 15 minutes after you buy it. Deal with it.

Misinformation?

You are the master of misinformation.

You claimed that a MacBook only costs $799, but on further examination it is shown that the cheapest one available is $1024 after mail-in rebate. And then you admit that this particular Mac needs some extra hardware purchased, which makes the price difference compared to the PC laptops I listed even greater than the hundreds of dollars less I quoted. Instead of correcting yourself about the price of a MacBook that you originally stated to the OP, you launch into a tirade against me because I pointed out your mistake.

Instead of admitting you were wrong (like a man) you attacked me (like a little boy) and then start quizzing me about all kinds of totally irrelevant questions such as the exact version of OS X I have used with a Mac, as if this has anything to do with you wildly inaccurate claims about the price of a MacBook.

That you still don't see your mistakes in facts, and have not retracted your inaccurate statements, and then start blaming others for "personal bias" against you, is unfortunately a predictable reaction that is far too common coming from you.

Why shouldn't we be biased against someone who lies (if it were an honest mistake you would have corrected yourself by now) ?

Why shouldn't we be biased against someone who changes the subject and attacks others to cover up their own inadequacies?

You are nothing more than a pathetic little boy who kicks the stone he has just stumbled on, and cries “absurd” at the world.

Not my fault if you can't shop.

Oh, right, I nearly forgot - you still haven't been able to answer that one (or any of the 'escape' questions I added... It was just to establish your familiarity, or lack thereof, with what you are lecturing about.

Your deceit never ends.

The $849 is for a “refurbished” (used) product. If you want to start comparing the price of refurbished products, let me know.

I gotta agree with Mr. Alan on this one.

The link Dafty gave is for a refurbished (Used, Second hand, previously owned) laptop.

Do you have any links for a new, unused, non-refurbished laptop for your price of $849?
