I have a 1-2-Call so does my wife. Maybe 1 in 10 calls from Africa I have problems with. So far it's been OK for me, I hate friggin phones anyway, only have them for work purposes.

We should be thankful to BK for not posting commercial banners all over his discussion forum.
I still have no idea why you post links to other boards. Was the content of that thread so important?
Anyway, this is what I think about it. It's solely my opinion. I feel no need to write to BK about becoming a 'commercial policeman'.
Furthermore, there is no 'commercial' discussion needed. You've tried to push commercial interests before.

I have a question. Do Top Up cards have the 'Private number' service? I'm curious.
My experience with 1-2-call is that the moment you turn "hide Call ID" on, it doesn't work-can't make any calls.

If you do a search, I remember someone has answered this previously. My experience has been that the number is still active (of course the balance has been wiped out) if I recharge it between 2-3 months i.e. I recharge 300 baht and the next time I come back (I make a trip every 2-3 months), I recharge it again and I'm good to go with the same SIM/number.
This is with 1-2-call.

Help Please! (1st time to Bangkok)
I will be in Bangkok for about 14 hours before I head to Phuket. I have a tri band phone and would like to get 1 -2 call service (thanks for the posts) I will be staying at the Majestic (thanks again) so I have access to the BTS..
I will be staying for about a month and dont have any serious use for calls (pleasure only)... My biggest concern is just the small amount of time I have to get this and the complexity of the transaction..
Can you guys give me a quantity recomendation of airtime to purchase?
Could you give me an easy place to pick a sim card up?

Soi 7, just before the famous Beer Garden is a large eating place. (I cannot call it a restaurant). Inside, on one side, there is a counter than sells phones. I watched several people buy sim cards from there. Just be ready for the rush from Thai 'seaters and greaters'.
Also, I think that in the Nan BTS station, just down from Majestic there is a phone shop, and I think you can get them from there.
