^^ my thoughts exactly -- I always felt that the iPhone contract should have been awarded to DTAC, or at least to AIS. AIS might not have done much with it, but at least they have the coverage. DTAC, I think, would have been more motivated - due to their management.
I think what swayed Apple towards TRUE is their claim of ubiquitous HotSpots (same argument that won O2 the UK contract), so they could claim better high-speed coverage, as they didn't have much of 3G to offer.
Sadly, Apple's Thailand reps are generally useless, and did not provide the Mothership with proper guidance as to the dynamics of the local carriers (IMO).

I have been trying to get a 3G iPhone on the easy payment using my credit card, and I just can't. And yet TrueVision is happily debiting my credit card every month for the monthly subscription.

BK if you have a True Visions account you should be able to get a payment plan. I did. You will get a monthly bill each month under the plan and you should be able to pay that bill by Thai Bank Internet Banking.

What ThaidUp said -- it may be the problem with your credit card, as they have difficulties accepting certain credit cards (I wasn't able to use my HSBC card at the Siam TRUEMOVE store, as they don't take those - had to get cash from the ATM for buying the two iPhones).

It's not the credit card, it's the stupid company. The same guys TrueVisions has been deducting my credit card for the TrueVision subscription for years.

BK, on a similar note. I have yet to understand why True Vision will let me pay my cable for a year, or monthly installments on my US based Credit Card, but True Move Internet won't do the same. I have to call go to the office and pay them every month.
