There are loads of these cheap ways to phone, 25 p seems much too steep to me, my wife buys the cards aSIA card etc 12 euro < about a tenner she phones for like 4 hours also know of some others I think 10 or 15 euro cent minute will post the adres after checking its worth it.
Its cheaper still on the internet, my wifes family have a computer gonna sort em out with a web cam.
Buy your tgf a computer for 25k with a web cam and pay 1000+- bt for internet per month then when your horny she can get her kit out for you won;t feel so homesick, just be carefuls with a sticky screen..

There are lots of options these days to call Thai mobile telephones; Telestunt: 0844 566 0 566 for 5p per min. Just Dial: 0870 794 0000 for between 2p & 8p per min depending on time of call. Telesavers: 08448 615 615 for 1p per min. These are only some of the options available.
Costs via BT line. Check prices if using another provider.

My Mob phone bills from UK are horrenduous because of FrankeGirl... looking fro a sollution.
What about Voice over IP? What is needed to call over the internet line? anyone knows?

Check out Skype for VoIP. A search on google will easily find it.
As for landline calls ( from the UK ) to BKK mobile I use a 'Mad for Minutes' card. 12p per minute using an 0800 number.

I tried Telesavers today.
Phoned Bangkok mobile and was crystal clear. I believe the cost to be 1p/minute PLUS 5p/minute to call via an 0844 number.
Seems excellent value.

The TOTAL cost via Telesavers using BT is 1p per min. There is no 5p per min charge for calling 0844 numbers, unless it is a 0844 number that is charged at 5p per min.
Telesavers (via BT landline) is charged at 1p per min.
Of course Bt has a 5p minimun charge per call, so speak for at least 5 mins. (-:
