I was recently fooling around with the security features on my nokia, and I discovered something interesting... If you switch on the "Fixed Dialing" mode on the handphone, you will be given an alternate phonebook, and when this mode is ON, you are allowed to see and dial from this list. If you switch of the "Fixed Dialing" mode, you will then return to your normaly phone book, and the other numbers in the "Fixed Dialing" mode will not be seen. In order to get to the "Fixed Dialing" mode you need to know the PIN2 (not PIN1 which you normally use to access the phone when it is first switched on, providing of course you have activated the Pin request). PIN2 is normally 1800 or 1234, but if you don't know, just make sure you know your PUK number which is given to you by your provider. If you do not have this number, then don't bother fooling around with it. The PUK number will allow you to unlock the PIN2 in case you lock yourself out. The neat thing about this feature is that most TGs do not have a clue about this mode, so they won't know to search for it. And even if they did know about this feature, it is not accessible, unless they know the PIN2 number. You are advised to change the PIN2 number if you are using this facility, just in case they accidentally unlock it using the default PIN2 numbers given above. Of course, if you were to access the hidden numbers, make sure you delete the call list once you have called out, just to remove traces. Always remember to cover your tracks! good luck!

bkkz, Interesting! It reminds me of this one time I fooled around with my 8210 and the vibra. I have put it inside a condom and into the anal of a TG. While she was on top of me I dialed my number repeatingly, but to her greatest joy nobody picked up the phone. LOL!

Bandit, Reminds me of a story of a nurse I knew who worked in a hospital in Oz, she told me of a guy that came in with a vibrator suck up his arse, obviously he had pushed a little to far and 'ssslurp' in she went. when the doc was feeling around inside to get it out, he turned it on by mistake. She told me stories of mnay things stuck up guys and girls clackers, glasses, candles, bottles, light globes, the list goes on.

I will have to check on that, actually, I set my numbers to be stored in the SIM card only. I think it is shared, but that phonebook 2, is password (PIN code) protected.

on the motorola v60 phones. you can enter the security features and allow only people in your phonebook to call you/or let your phone ring. all others not in your phone book will hear the regular 4 to 5 rings, but will be directed to your voicemail. your incoming call list will also not show you that they called, in case your girl checks your phone. just a note.

I have a cell phone question, My TGF has a Motorola cell phone which is piece of crap. It was a gift from her sister, so I image price was a factor. She lives out in the country (Isan) and the reception is not that great. That is part of the problem. Does anbody have reccomendation for good cell phone for use in LOS (brand, Model, price). Thanks

delta, this is very strange???!!! I added a couple of names to the Fixed dialing list, and those additions are not reflected in the memory status. i.e. no change, in either the phone or SIM card memory usage. When I switch on the Fixed Dialing mode, and then check the memory status, the phone will not display the status for the SIM card. This is really good, as your secret numbers do not cause any discrepencies in the memory count on your SIM card. The memory indicator does show that it is store in the SIM card though, and that's confirmed as I transfer the SIM card to another phone.

Hey, that's a good feature. I am now using the Ericsson T68, and I have this feature to reject callers not in the accepted list. However, the caller's number is shown.
