Hiya,
I need a little help with a techy query; I plan to take my laptop to Thailand in December and would like to use it to connect to the internet using local telephone lines or internet shops- it'll be mainly used in the Isaan province.

I'm thinking to download, via the net, the software of one the most popular Thai ISP (Loxinfo) here in the UK, so that not incur in horrendous charges if I were to use my standard UK dial-up connection.

My question is that something feasible and would I be able to download the correct software from the net?

Anyone who has a better suggestion?

Cheers

Sarge

Is it me or has this been discussed about 364 times before?

No need to roam, just buy a package of any ISP while you're in Thailand.

Prices range from 3 - 10 baht per hour. No software needed. You get a user and password and use a local line.

Be aware that some packages are for Bangkok only.
Read the package before buying.
