can anyone help me here ? i have movies stored in my pc in windows movie maker (WMM), and they are in high matt format. when I write them to cd I can not play on my home player like a normal VCD. and what format is VCD's in. thanks.

MPEG 2 but you can't just copy the files onto a disc and watch them in a VCD player, you must use a software program to burn them in the proper structure, with the proper headers I use Nero there's much more info at VideoHelp.com

Nero automatically converts the files into a VCD format and adds also other necesssary files.

Dr Love is right. I just used nero express to convert and burn some of my Mpg, avi, mpeg and Wmv files to VCD cd. Just click video / pictures, video cd and add files. Easy! Nice to watch these on the big TV. My cheap dvd also does a slide show of all my saved images. Beats counting sheep! Thanks Dr. Love.
