I searched the Tech threads for posts on the Mac Mini and came up with nothing.
Seems they are more expensive than at home in the USA. Only advantage would be that I can actually get one here. Would it be the same machine exactly? Looks like the price was 25,500 baht at a Mac store in Siam Center.
This will be to just learn OSX mainly.

Is that price for the low-end, or the high-end version?
Bear one thing in mind with the Mac mini - it only has one memory slot, and only comes with 256mb of RAM -- Mac OS X requires at least 512, or more to start behaving 'snappy'. The machine will run much slower with 256, so make a note to upgrade the memory with at least a 512mb chip, or a 1gb, if it's affordable.
You do NOT need to buy Apple's memory, especially in LOS where the Apple dealers are charging ridiculous sums -- it uses standard DDR RAM, PC2700 or PC3200. You can get it much cheaper in any standard store.

Exactly the same opinion of the reviewer at cnn.com.
I think that he said that the basic model was USD 500, but to work with it comfortably you needed to spend at least USD800.
Plus no DVD writer standard?

Yes, this was the low-end model. I would add the 512mb myself at home. Wonder if I can find for less?

i recently hauled a mac laptop over from the states for a friend because it was about 300 dollars cheaper to buy it here. 2 cents
