Hi, Is it possible to buy prepaid cards to use gprs internet in thailand? I've heard of rates like 0,05thb per KB? Is this true? I can not find anything on ais or dtac homepage? Any suggestions? Thanx Supreme

Not sure about rate per KB, but I use prepaid AIS GPRS and I have always understood it to be 1 Baht per min butI maybe wrong. The thing you need to remember is to call AIS Customer Services and get GPRS turned on for your number.

1-2 Call and DTAC are believed to have GPRS on their prepaid cards. But it seems to be working with different results. Orange has Wifi and GPRS on their monthly Talk Plan only.

Ok so I go and buy a one-2-call card from AIS and call customer service to switch on gprs. Do I need an extra internet provider? Or can I just buy a internet card for local use and dial the number via my mobile phone?

No internet provider is needed with AIS ( not sure about DTC). All you need to do is configure your mobile as a modem and set the dial number to *99***1# and username of ais with password of ais. Works well I think all things considering.
