Yes, I now have a girlfriend who is supposed to be in Issan and not working bar in Samui! My buddy found this website that is supposed to offer cellphone tracking in Thailand. The phone hits a tower and you get a general idea of where the cellphone is and hopefully it has not migrated back to her old bar. Anyone tried this or have any information on the service. I imagine if your Thai girl lives in BKK, Pattaya, Samui or Phuket it might not be much help but I'm thinking I can at least tell if she is in Issan.

I know this company quite well (it actually operates out of the same building as my company) and the founder is a long time friend of mine. He is part of the family behind Loxley and he was the founder of Loxinfo - now CS Loxinfo.
The product you are talking about works very well but is really not suitable for tracking bar girls.
1. In order for it to work, the bar girl has to agree to be tracked - I think she even has to sign a form saying that she agrees to tracked.
2. Even if she agrees to be tracked there are ways of fooling you. For instance she can leave her phone in Isaan and simply forward all incoming calls to another phone.
I think you might find it more efficient to implant a GPS tracking device into her body!!

Thanks for the reply Abrak. Of course, I purchased the phone for her but I was hoping I could get around the form having to be signed. I should have purchased the phone, signed the form and then given her the phone. I have some other ways of keeping tabs on her including her home phone. I call the mom every so often and ask to speak to her daughter. So far, she has been right there. Before I ever indicated I wanted her to go home I asked if she would like to use my phone to call her mom and say hello. I saved it the next day. Would your friend be willing to bend the rules a bit?

Well if you purchased the phone for her and it is in your name then you can still sign the tracking form. My guess though, is that you paid for the phone and it is in her name, in which case she needs to sign the release.

well most bar girls in nana day time work day time so when the sponsor call in the night time they can answer the phone. SO if you demand the girl to answer her phone at all time tracking can be a good idea.

Guys, I have posted this info before, the best way to check on your girl in Isaan is to have her hold the phone out the window and tell her to kick a chicken so you can here it.... They all have chickens at their homes... this is the best check there is..... then tell her you want to say hi to her mom and dad.....

I like that idea! Actually after about my second day with the Issan Gal I offered my phone for her to call mom and say hello. I then saved the number and every so often I call the moms number to say hello then ask to speak to the girl. So far....she's always right there with mom! No need for the chickens.

Listening for chickens os a cute idea but not that reliable. I stayed at the Omni on Soi4 and right next door are chickens and a big ole' rooster. Sounds just like upcountry.
You wanna check if she is in Issan ??..... call the home landline (assuming they can afford one). Can't really get around that one.

Ok.... ask the expert
This tracking system works on Cellid and therefore you can get a pretty good accuracy especially indoor as the size of indoor cells is much smaller than outdoor. If she is in a building you can get the name of the building. outside you most likely be able to get street name.
Problem in Issan is that she most likely live in a remote area where high powered antenna are used to cover large area with low density (Capacity) so you will have an accuracy of several Km.
If you want to spy on her there is other way that are much better though I find it useless to check your TGF. Either trust her or assume she is going to lie and dont ask questions.
You can take her phone to chinatown (The market by the klong) and get a chip installed in the phone. its called a mic. once it is installed she wont see any difference. but you will ! you can actually call her number anytime via a special command (USSD) and listen thru her microphone.
So if she is on the phone, you get the conversation (Only her speaking) if she is not connected you hear the background noise (If its boom boom boom I wanna go boom boom... she is not in issan !)
second option is cell id tacking via USSD command. for this you need to know somebody inside. I did it few times on Orange.
